Radio Disney Carpet One Magic Carpet Time Tour

Creative Press was responsible for the PR of the Carpet One Magic Carpet Time Tour, a million dollar community outreach literacy program sponsored by Radio Disney and North America's largest floor retailer, Carpet One. Creative Press drove media attention to 1,500 performances in the US and Canada between 2000 and 2002, bringing overall attendance to the tour to over 250,000 students in two years.

Community Public RelationsDisney Recording Artist Myra was a featured performer in St. Louis and Los Angeles; we coordinated the media relations efforts to promote her appearances at these Carpet One Magic Carpet Time Tour events. Creative Press also developed and issued hundreds of press releases to various media markets in the US and Canada, including newspapers, magazines, and radio and TV stations. Overall, the campaign achieved 156 TV segments, 373 newspaper articles and photos, and 50 radio interviews.

Children attended a 60 minute program where they watched an interactive stage show encouraging them to read. Each child received a colorful Disney storybook and a magic carpet square that was used during the show to "transport" the children to different magical worlds. Over one million square feet of magic carpet and 250,000 storybooks were donated to the children by Radio Disney and Carpet One.
